Handmade pottery is designed for everyday use, but mindful care can help it stay beautiful
and functional for years. At Popup Stone, our pieces are made to be part of daily life, not
stored away—but a little attention goes a long way.
Most handmade pottery is food-safe, microwave-safe, and dishwasher-friendly. However,
gentle handwashing with mild soap is always recommended to preserve the glaze finish over
time. Avoid using abrasive scrubbers, as they may dull the surface.
One of the most important things to keep in mind is temperature change. Sudden shifts,
such as pouring boiling water into a cold mug or placing a hot dish on a cold surface, can
cause thermal shock. Allow your pottery to gradually adjust to temperature changes.
When storing your ceramics, stack carefully or place a soft cloth between pieces to prevent
chipping. In dishwashers, avoid overcrowding and ensure pieces do not knock against each
other.
Handmade pottery naturally develops character with use. Small marks over time are signs of
a well-loved piece. With simple care and everyday mindfulness, your pottery will remain a
part of your daily rituals for many years to come.
